High Tech High Mesa (HTHM) is dedicated to educating, guiding, and supporting students and their families through the college & career search and application process. Our mission is to empower students to make informed decisions based on their unique values, interests, and talents, ensuring they find a postsecondary option where they will thrive. By fostering exploration, self-discovery, and personal growth, we prepare students to confidently take their next steps toward success in college and beyond. Through collaboration with faculty, advisors, and coaches, we equip students with the tools and resources needed to navigate their individual journeys with clarity and purpose.

Our Philosophy

At HTHM, we are dedicated to empowering students to make informed and thoughtful decisions about their futures. Through a student-centered approach, we cultivate a supportive environment that adapts to each student’s unique developmental needs.

HTHM's counseling is guided by the Director of College Counseling and supported by a College & Career Access Team (CCAT), which delivers our comprehensive guidance program. This program includes regular one-on-one meetings with students and families, engaging informational events, essay workshops, college fairs, and visits from over 200 college admissions representatives annually. Juniors and seniors also participate in a seminar series that deepens their understanding of the application process, complemented by college trips that expose them to a wide range of institutions across the state and country.

Our CCAT is at the core of HTHM’s college and career preparation, guiding students as they navigate the R.A.C.E. toward post-secondary opportunities: Research colleges and careers, Apply to the right opportunities, Choose their best-fit option, and Ease into their new roles after high school.

We are committed to fostering a healthy, balanced, and enriching college search experience. Our goal is to equip students with the confidence, knowledge, and skills they need to transition successfully to life after HTHM, whether pursuing higher education or other meaningful pathways.
